Model Photoshoot Cost in Delhi for Clothing Brands: Per Look and Per Piece Rates
A clothing model photoshoot in Delhi is usually priced either per day (roughly Rs 15,000 to Rs 50,000 or more) or per image (about Rs 400-500 for an on-model shot at one published studio rate). What it really costs you per garment depends on how many pieces you shoot in a day, how many angles each needs, and who is on the team.
“What does a model shoot cost?” is a bit like asking what a taxi costs. Depends how far you go. But you can budget it properly with three numbers, and this post gives you the method plus the market ranges to plug in.
How much does a fashion photoshoot cost in Delhi?
The ranges below are published market figures, not a SnapRich rate card. They’re indicative, and they vary by studio, season and complexity.

Pricing style |
Typical range |
Best for |
|---|---|---|
|
Per day (model, photographer, studio) |
Rs 15,000-50,000+ |
Collections, 20+ styles |

Per on-model image |
Rs 400-500 at one Delhi studio |
Small drops, a few hero styles |
|
Ghost / invisible mannequin, per image |
Rs 250-600 |
Structured pieces, high volume |
|
Entry-level volume pricing |
Advertised from about Rs 69 per photo by some studios |
Simple pieces, standard poses |
That last line deserves some scepticism. A headline “from” rate on model shots usually assumes standard poses, a fixed shot list and a high volume. It rarely covers styling, extra looks or complex garments. Ask what’s in it.
The per-piece maths
Day rates feel big until you divide them. Here’s the method:
Cost per piece = (day rate + extras) / pieces shot in a day

Same day, same price, nearly three times cheaper per piece. The difference is preparation: garments pressed and tagged, looks planned in order, one clear shot list. This is the biggest lever you control, and it costs nothing.
Then count images. If each piece needs front, back and a detail, that’s three frames, which is why per-image and per-day pricing can both be fair and still produce different totals.
What drives the price up or down
-
Number of pieces and angles. More frames per garment, more time.
-
Garment type. A plain tee is fast. A saree, lehenga or heavily embellished piece needs draping, pinning and re-steaming between shots.
-
Model. Fresh faces cost less than experienced or agency models. Women, men and kids are priced differently, and kids’ shoots take longer because of breaks.
-
Hair, makeup and styling. Often a separate line item.
-
Retouching depth. Basic cleanup versus full skin and fabric retouching.
-
Turnaround. Rush delivery costs extra. Standard timelines cost less.
-
Location. A rented studio, an on-location shoot, or a studio that owns its space.
-
Usage. Marketplace listings are one thing. Paid ads and billboards use the images differently and may price differently.
What’s usually included, and what usually isn’t
Typical inclusions: studio and lighting, photographer, model time, basic colour correction and background cleanup, delivery in marketplace-ready sizes.
Commonly separate: stylist, makeup and hair, extra models, props, advanced retouching, and revision rounds beyond the first.
Get this in writing. “What’s the day rate” is not the same question as “what will I pay in total.”
On-model, ghost mannequin or flat lay: which to pay for?
You don’t have to put every piece on a model.
-
Hero styles and new launches: on-model. These sell the collection.
-
Structured basics such as shirts, jackets and kurtas: ghost mannequin is cheaper per image and gives a clean, consistent grid.
-
Simple basics like T-shirts and kidswear: flat lay can be enough.
Many brands do on-model for the first image or two and ghost or flat for the rest. Marketplace rules matter here, since some platforms prefer a model for the primary image of apparel. Check yours first. Our Myntra photoshoot requirements guide covers one example, and catalog fashion photography: the complete guide covers the approach in more depth.
Ways to cut the cost without cutting quality
-
Press and tag everything before shoot day. Steaming on set burns paid hours.
-
Group by model and colour story. Fewer changes, faster flow.
-
Plan the shot list per SKU. Front, back, detail. Decide it before the model arrives.
-
Shoot a season at once. One bigger day beats three small ones, because setup time is fixed.
-
Use mixed formats. On-model for heroes, ghost for the rest.
-
Bring accessories. Delays happen when the right dupatta or belt is missing.
-
Ask for a sample frame before you commit to the whole booking.
Smaller brands often start lean and expand. How affordable fashion photography is helping small Indian brands looks at that path.
How do I book a model for a clothing shoot?
Tell the studio what you’re shooting: number of pieces, men’s, women’s or kids’, the marketplace or channel, and the date. They’ll match a model to your size range and look. Send two or three reference images of the style you like. Then confirm the total price in writing, including what isn’t included.
At SnapRich, our Rohini studio works with female, male and kid models and prices fashion shoots by the project, based on complexity, duration, styling, location and post-production. Our entry rate of Rs 49 per photo covers standardised product catalogue work, not model shoots, so we quote those separately. See the fashion and model photography page for the services, or look at the wider product photography cost guide for other categories.
FAQ
What is the average cost of an e-commerce model photoshoot in Delhi?
Published figures range from about Rs 15,000 to Rs 50,000 or more per day, or around Rs 400-500 per on-model image at one studio. Your cost depends on pieces per day and angles per piece.
How much does a fashion photoshoot cost in Delhi?
Day rates of Rs 15,000-50,000+ are common for catalogue work. Editorial and campaign shoots with styling teams cost more.
How do I work out the cost per garment?
Divide the total shoot cost by the pieces shot. A Rs 25,000 day with 40 pieces is about Rs 625 per piece; the same day with 15 pieces is about Rs 1,667.
Is a model photoshoot worth it for a small clothing brand?
For fit-sensitive, fashion-led or higher-priced items, yes: buyers want to see drape and fit. For basics at low prices, ghost mannequin or flat lay may be enough.
What should be included in a model shoot quote?
Model time, photographer, studio, lighting and basic retouching, plus the number of final images and revisions. Ask separately about styling, makeup, extra models and rush delivery.
How long does a catalogue model shoot take?
A full day usually covers 20 to 40 simple pieces with a prepared shot list. Heavier garments and kids’ shoots take longer.
Price ranges are drawn from published studio pricing and our own cost guide, last checked October 2026, and are indicative only.
